Kevin Bleyer
Emmy Award-Winning Writer
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart
Kevin Bleyer is a multiple Emmy Award-winning writer for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, after more than a decade writing and producing Dennis Miller and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher. Since 2008, he has worked on many of President Barack Obama's speeches, including the President's remarks at the every White House Correspondents Association dinner since his inagurration. Bleyer, the only member of the Council on Foreign Relations who has flown to Iraq on (what can only be described as) a high-level joke-finding mission, is also a frequent commentator for National Public Radio, a graduate of Stanford University, and the author of the Me The People:One Man's Selfless Quest to Rewrite the Constitution of the United States of America, which instantly became the #1 political humor e-book on Amazon. The Kirkus Review called Me The People a "funny, politically provocative illumination of the Constitution, a document that all politicians and most Americans revere without really understanding its contents or origins.... Bleyer makes readers think as well as laugh. Funny stuff with both a point and a perspective."

The Daily Show...and Tell: the Real Story Behind Writing Fake News
"More Americans get their news from fake news than from any other source," and Kevin Bleyer is awfully sorry about that. He feels responsible. For the last fifteen years -- the last five as a writer for the Peabody Award-winning The Daily Show with Jon Stewart -- the multiple Emmy Award-winning Bleyer has been writing, producing, and performing some of television's most celebrated political satire.
And when he's not doing that, he's writing speeches for the President of the United States. And when he's not doing that, he's talking to people like you about politics, satire, the state of news today, the art of speechwriting, and what it's like to do what he does for a living. Heck, he might even be happy to talk about the thing you wanted to talk about.
Me The People
The Constitution promised a More Perfect Union. It's a shame no one bothered to write a more perfect Constitution-one that didn't trigger more than two centuries of arguments about what the darn thing actually says. Until now.
Kevin Bleyer, the Emmy Award-winning writer for THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART, undertook a monumental task- to rewrite the entire Constitution, settling once and for all what it's truly about. As is, the Constitution is a hot mess. It doesn't mention slavery, or democracy, or even Facebook; it plays favorites among the states; it has typos; and its Preamble was written by a man with a peg leg. Which, if you think about it, gives our Constitution hardly a leg to stand on.
The Kirkus Review called Me The People a "funny, politically provocative illumination of the Constitution, a document that all politicians and most Americans revere without really understanding its contents or origins.... Bleyer makes audiences think as well as laugh. Funny stuff with both a point and a perspective."

Publisher’s Weekly Starred Review
Me the People: One Man's Selfless Quest to Rewrite the Constitution of the United States
An Emmy Award-winning writer for The Daily Show, Kevin Bleyer does the unthinkable and rewrites the United States Constitution in his sharp and intensely witty latest effort that shows listeners just how out of date the American system of government is and what can be done to get with the times. Turning in a skillful and hilarious performance, Bleyer never fails to antagonize both left and right as he cuts into modern government and its officials. Bleyer's tone is sharp and cynical, but to his credit, he never sounds angry or confrontational. His approach is from a comedic perspective, but-luckily for listeners-he also has an important message: America is out of touch with itself. An endlessly enjoyable listening experience.
